One Day in Kuala Lumpur

Posted By Wilton0 Comments

If upcoming business travel has you destined for the South-Asian mecca of Kuala Lumpur, you can’t help but to read on. For those of you headed in other directions with your business class ticket, you ought to continue reading on as well – and live vicariously through us!

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is a wonder, in and of itself. Originally built in 1998 in the upper corridor of Peninsular Malaysia, the buildings and grounds feature a transplanted rain forest, a Formula One racetrack, a full service business center and an accomplished 5-star hotel, The Pan Pacific. To get from KLIA to Kuala Lumpur City (50 km away), we suggest the KLIA Ekspres train. It’s a mere RM 70.00 roundtrip, and will get you to city centre comfortably in only 28 minutes!

While in the city and away from the office, you have myriad opportunities to dive into the area’s colorful and mysterious culture. For a truly unforgettable & unique experience, bypass the traditional western luxury spa to try a fish spa in the city. We recommend theKenko Fish Spa in Bukit Bintang (Lot 5.01.09, Level 5, 168 Jalan) or the Foot Master Fish Spa a bit further from city center (07-44, Lot 06-21 & 22, 6th Floor, West Wing; Berjaya Times Square, No. 1 Jalan Imbi). Just don’t be surprised when your masseuse is sporting gills, rather than lungs!

For something equally as relaxing, but a little less removed from western norms, don’t pass up the Islamic Arts Museum. Not only is the building itself stunning, but the works contained inside demonstrate no shortage of inspiration. The permanent collection will take you a bit over an hour to view, allowing just enough time for you to cool off in the air conditioning before subjecting yourself to the formidable heat once again!
