Let’s Talk Sign-up Bonuses: Part II
Yesterday we brought you the first article of Let’s Talk Sign-up Bonuses and today, as promised, we’re following up with part dues. Before venturing into the frequent flier program, we encourage you to take a look at our overview of the six most popular cards – after all, knowledge is power, people!
Gold Delta SkyMiles American Express
You can take solace in the fact that the miles you rack up with this card will never, ever expire. Furthermore, after spending a mere $500 during the first three months, you’ll be awarded 30,000 bonus miles – and you can begin redeeming after only earning 10,000! You’ll earn 2 miles for every $1 spent on Delta purchases and 1 mile per dollar spent on other purchases. You can also expect priority boarding and complimentary checked baggage for everyone on the reservation itinerary (well, up to 9 people), and like Chase Sapphire, the $95 annual fee is waived for the first year! Keep in mind, however, that if you anticipate spending more than $50,000 annually with this card, you would be better off to look into the Platinum or Delta Reserve cards.
Capital One Venture Rewards
Although this card offers a measly 10,000 sign-up bonus, you only need to spend $1,000 in the first three months. Another redeeming factor is that you’ll receive 2, (yes 2!) points per dollar spent on any purchase, so you’re likely to rack up points more quickly than with other cards. The annual fee is only $59 dollars and is waived for the first year. You’ll also receive comparable privileges to what the Visa Signature offers, including pre-sale ticket access to concerts and events, 24/7 concierge service, and no foreign transaction fee. In essence, this card gives you a pretty good bang for your buck – after all, it was named MONEY magazine’s “Most Rewarding Card if you crave free flights.”
We’re almost there! Continue to check back as we round out this sequence of blogs with the third installment and the final two of the most common six credit cards.
