When one thinks of Moscow, they’re often brought to images of the ballet, to thoughts of Romanovs, and to the faint smell of high quality vodka. And while such elegant fineries are indeed intriguing and renowned, Moscow offers a whole slew of activities for business and luxury travelers alike. From impressive museums to eclectic locales, there’s simply something for everyone – especially in summer.

Whether you’ve a green thumb or just enjoy vivid visual displays, there are numerous gardens to experience in Moscow. Inside the VDNH you’ll find exquisite pavilions and impressive fountains amid perfectly manicured flowerbeds. The Botanical Gardens contains more than 20,000 species of plants and is the largest live exhibition in all of Europe. And finally, there’s the eclectic Gorky Park at Krymsky Val that overlooks the Moscow River and features a sprinkling of theme-park style rides.

And in addition to Red Square and St. Basils Cathedral (both of which you ought to see if this is a one-time Moscow trip), there are many other cultural locales that you may wish to pop into. The Pushkin State Museum offers an impressive array of both temporary and permanent exhibits, and is one of the largest holding bays for the famous gold loot of Troy. You might also want to visit the so-called Diamond Fund inside the Kremlin, which features a unique array of diamonds and precious jewels including Catherine the Great’s Orlov Diamond.

Whatever you do – you’re likely to have a wonderful time! Just remember - the weather in Moscow can be unpredictable. Even in August, there may be sudden bursts of cold weather followed by unforgiving heat waves. But as long as you go with that understanding, you’re certain to have a most pleasant trip!
